A TEENAGE robber who was branded a "danger to the vulnerable" was caged for three years yesterday.
The young thug, who cannot be named, targeted women in their 80s, and launched brutal street attacks as they went about their daily routines in Jarrow and Hebburn.
Newcastle Crown Court heard after leaving his victims battered and bleeding, the boy, who was only 13 at the time, spent the money he stole on trips to Wet 'n' Wild and MetroLand.

Judge Beatrice Bolton told the boy, now 14: "This tells me you do not understand the effects of what you have done because you would not have done it if you did.
"It also tells me at this precise moment in time you are a danger to the vulnerable in our society.

"I therefore have to protect the vulnerable in our society, those people you might attack, from you.

The boy, from Hebburn, was detained at Her Majesty's Pleasure for three years. He remained expressionless as he was led away by members of the youth offending team.
He pleaded guilty to three robberies on May 25, June 1 and June 7, and asked for two similar offences to be taken into account.
